The Power of Community

I value our meditation community. It has grown in my heart. Little did I know the journey we would make from its start. I held the space and others showed up to be connected in this challenging time. I am grateful.

In a sense we are leaning on each other as we stand separate in our lives. We learn from each other when we speak our reflections. We witness each other through the technology of Zoom. We sit in silence in trust as we are held in love and respect. And with every new sunrise, we get a chance to do it again.

I believe in the ripple effect. With every intention we each set to hold our space in silence, it touches everyone around us. Imagine the widespread goodness that comes from every day we hold this space.

We have created a collective spiritual practice, directing our hearts to achieve higher contemplative thoughts that inspire, encourage, respect, love and hold us as we live our lives. Thank you for your participation for you bless us with your presence, and you also bless yourself.

When We Share by Julie Hebert When we share with someone else, Something valuable to us You may find out later on, To them they feel they were blessed. Some of us have lots to give, And some of us do not. If someone could benefit, Why not give them a shot. Sharing is a wonderful thing, Especially to those you've shared with. There are a lot of kind people out there, And that is not a myth. So next time you see someone, Who could benefit from something you can share. Don't hold back and look away, Be kind and answer their prayer.

Participants’ Reflections:

  • I love the idea of sharing and caring. I grew up in a family built on dictatorship. Yoga and recovery have helped me to learn to say what I mean, mean what I say, and don’t say it mean. This group is kind and compassionate. I appreciate it.

  • This field of love and respect holds us. It is compassionate. Newcomers feel welcome. We all feel the freedom to come when we can.

  • I appreciate this space and what you’ve created, and how you use gentle guidance across a wide range of topics, some controversial. We explore without dictating. It’s really wonderful and safe.

  • This reminds me of the idea of gentle teaching, which is a teaching method for communicating with people with behavior problems. A practitioner can be on the floor with the client to get their attention. It is modeling. We all do modeling in this space.

  • I’ve never been a member of a group like this. So blessed.

  • The word that came to me during the meditation was transcendence. We do transcend in this space. I feel a kinship with this group because real sharing occurs.

  • It is real and dear. It is something I hang on to when seeing and hearing difficult things during the day.

  • Thank you for your commitment. It’s great to scroll through the blogs, read them, and look at the wonderful pictures.
